Take a Peek at The Peaks Resort $11 Million Facelift

July 22, 2009 (Telluride, CO) – The Peaks Resort & Spa, the largest full-service hotel property in the Telluride area, is undergoing an $11 million dollar renovation project. The renovation is scheduled to be complete by early September and includes improvements throughout the property.

“We anticipate that the $11 million investment will rejuvenate The Peaks Resort & Spa to its former splendor, which has a long standing reputation as the anchor resort hotel in and around Telluride,” said Brent Truax, the property’s general manager.

The most significant areas of upgrades in progress, or already completed, are:

  • The Great Room. Featuring the most spectacular views in the region, the Great Room at The Peaks Resort is a signature spot for dining, gathering or simply, guest R&R. Once completed, the entire hotel entrance area and Great Room will be ADA compliant and upgraded with a more modern mountain décor, finishings and ambiance.
  • Event Deck & Fire Pit. To capitalize on the property’s unrivaled views, repair and replacement of the exterior balcony area and fire pit will result in a new event deck, able to accommodate up to 200 seated guests. Perfect for weddings, cocktail receptions, festivals, special events and corporate functions, this new open-air function space will complement the hotel’s other group amenities.
  • The Spa at The Peaks Resort. In addition to hotel upgrades, The Spa at The Peaks Resort, Colorado’s largest spa and recognized by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the nation’s best spas, recently completed a $3 million renovation to the facilities and services provided.
  • Hotel Exterior. Perhaps the most visual of the renovations, the entire property will be painted a more natural palette to complement the hotel’s surroundings.
  • Guest Rooms. Continued renovation and the installation of new furniture packages in-room will also be completed as part of the renovation.
  • Other Areas of Improvement. Roof re-flashing and re-tiling, as well as major mechanical updates and repairs are underway.
