Fall 2017 Spa Newsletter

Fall 2017 Spa Newsletter
September 19, 2017 Spa Manager

A lot has happened at the Spa since Telluride Ski & Golf took over. We have many new front-desk staff who are doing a great job; a new Spa Director who is also the Chairman of the International Spa Association; an Assistant Spa Director with a track record for revitalizing destination spas; our new Fitness Director is making great strides to enhance our fitness equipment, and who is scheduling classes that fit our member’s needs; a dedicated and caring Membership Manager; and a new Therapist Supervisor who has been instrumental in recruiting talented therapists and implementing our new Spa menu of services.

elixirAlong with our enhanced staffing, our Retail Supervisor has introduced new product lines for all of your skincare, body care, makeup, and wellness needs! To keep up with our new products. The Boutique has also been given a new look. The new vanity area is stocked with an up and coming line named Makeup Factory along with Chella Brow. Be on the lookout for information on our Brow to Wow! event featuring Chella Brow to be held December 14th!

For the pool and gym we carry swimwear for women by Phax, Laird swimwear for men, and “Athleisure” clothing for all by Mind in Motion. The Salon now uses two internationally-renowned lines of hair care products; Kevin Murphy and Moroccan Oil, both of which are available for retail purchase. For skin we carry the playful, sweetly-scented Farm House Fresh, and the sea-based, contouring Phytomer. In addition to our local Astara products, facial product lines include science-backed Skinceuticals, and nature-based Naturopathica, with additional sunscreen and sun protection products by Soleil and Pure Fiji.

We also have items that make great gifts like candles made by The Beauty of Hope, with a percentage of proceeds benefiting charities. Jewelry and meditation beads by Mala and Mantra, and VitaJuwel (water infused with the power of crystals), and so much more. Come see for yourself!

If coming to see all our new offerings isn’t enough enticement already, we are going to start the winter season with a skincare event we are calling The Seven Days of Skinceuticals! Starting December 1st, we will have a drawing each day to give something away from Skinceuticals. In order to enter the drawing, you must purchase one of the following:

  • Purchase a $100 Gift Certificate
  • Purchase $100 in skinceuticals facial products
  • Purchase a Skinceutical Facial

The event will culminate on December 7th from 4-7 PM at our Bubbles & Bites party where you can enjoy Prosecco and appetizers while getting a free skin analysis and chair massage. We will also have a grand-prize drawing for a Full Skin Regimen (a $500 value)!

SkinceuticalsThe products we use for treatments are Skinceuticals for the face and Naturopathica for the face and body. The names of these products say it all. The Naturopathica line is perfect for people who want a more holistic approach to skin care, while Skinceuticals is more science-based, geared towards those with a particular concern. No matter what you are looking for, both brands deliver fantastic results!

DetoxOne treatment that’s wonderful for both men and women is the Deep Forrest Detox Scrub. The treatment starts with a vigorous exfoliation using volcanic pumice and ground espresso beans to get rid of dead skin cells. This step is followed by a warm wrap using mineral-rich black silt clay found in lakes in Northern Europe along with herbal extracts of honey and Indian sarsaparilla to help smooth and firm the skin. The last step is an application of your choice of Deep Forrest Body oil or Sicilian Bergamot lotion. We serve this treatment with the Detox Tonic to nurture you both inside and out! Your skin will feel incredibly soft and smooth, and best of all, you will feel like you’ve been truly pampered. This is the perfect time of year for this treatment as we move into winter and a drier climate.

Our engineering team has been attempting to fix the women’s roman tub to no avail, which means we are beginning the process of requesting bids and obtaining permits to do a complete overhaul of both the men’s and women’s kivas. This will take months to accomplish, and we ask for your patience and understanding during this time. In the end we will have beautiful new kiva areas for your enjoyment, and we believe everything we are doing will benefit the Spa for years to come.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be open throughout the shoulder-season with a fitness and yoga class schedule designed to accommodate October and November demands. If you have a request for a particular class, please notify Ellen this week at or (970) 728-2545. Additionally, since October and November are generally slower, it is possible that the pools or kivas may be closed on certain days for cleaning or maintenance. If you have your heart set on swimming or steaming, you may wish to call first.

As always, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to reach out to our Spa Membership Manager, Jean Frankenstein, at (970) 728.7390 or
